When people say that everything happens for a reason I want to shit in my hands and throw it at them while singing that one country song that talks about itty bitty things the whole time. That’s the only appropriate response I can think of to prove to them that they are wrong.
But really.. Saying that everything happens for a reason is semi disrespectful to victims of abuse, rape, or anything else of that sort. That didn’t happen for a reason. Your logic is flawed.
The world is a big random chaotic shit storm with all kinds of shit happening all the time and all we can do is react in such a manner. Justifications of said happenings are easy to make up and it’s easy to pretend like they are significant, by saying that they happen for a reason. Sorry, I don’t buy it.

I’ve been busy. And by busy I mean I’ve been playing a lot of video games and doing some traveling. This a good thing because when I play a lot of video games or I travel it means my mind is occupied. I think I’ve found a trigger for my anxiety. Being alone. When I’m alone I think too much. I think terrible things because my mind isn’t focused on positive things. I need people and I’m glad I’ve realized this. I feel like myself as of late and that’s a great thing.

This weekend I played a house show in Murfreesboro, TN. It was easily the hottest show I’ve ever played. Stepping into a sauna would have felt refreshing compared to what it felt like there in front of a small crowd of sweaty drunk people in a basement with no AC and a lot of hot music gear throwing heat around. Something about house shows are always so fun to me. Maybe it’s the intimacy or the vibe , or maybe it’s the fact that everyone is drunk, including myself. In fact I had a few hits of a bowl and like 6 beers before we played and then I chugged two beers during our set and I was pretty fucked up near the latter end of it. I vaguely remember asking the crowd “Is anyone as drunk as I am?” That’s always a good sign I guess. I play badass when I’m drunk, or at least it sounds that way to me.
